When time declined I wondered why the idea racing through my mind would not desist.
All other things had come to close and ended. Why did this resist?
Stubborn, willful thing; unsung, yet with a song to sing: receive your benediction.
Time will fail; you did not try to scale this mountain of affliction.
And yet – and yet I wonder if Time will bend;
I wonder if Time will bow its hoary head and lend you one last chance of its beneficence?
If so – if so, I hope you will relent;
I hope with everything in my heart you will repent your prior lack of confidence.
We have accord; to you this one last thing I shall afford: try indeed.
In this alone shall you win; peace will not escape you then: Godspeed!
